SIERRA (TRADING POST) OPENS MARCH 16 IN STERLING

It’s the third store from the TJ Maxx family of brands to open in the same shopping center.

The latest store from the TJ Maxx family of stores has announced it will open its new location in Sterling on Saturday, March 16 in the Potomac Run Plaza just off Route 7.

It’s called the Sierra Trading Post. Or at least it was until December. It appears the company has rebranded the store as just plain “Sierra” starting in January.

The Burn first broke the news that Sierra was coming more than a year ago, and as we’ve described (see here),  the store is sort of like if a Dick’s Sporting Goods and a HomeGoods store got together and had a baby.

It carries an eclectic selection of discounted goods including outdoor gear, sporting goods, shoes, clothing, home decor, small appliances and even pet supplies.

This is the third store from the TJ Maxx parent company — known as the TJX Companies — to set up shop in the Potomac Run Plaza. In 2018, both a HomeGoods and a Homesense store opened there.
