City Tap sets opening date at One Loudoun

The new restaurant is best described as an upscale, modern pub.

At long last, we have an opening date for the eagerly anticipated City Tap at One Loudoun in Ashburn. Monday, Nov. 11 is the big day.

The new restaurant — what they bill as an “elevated American pub experience” — will sit in a prime spot on the main central plaza, next to Matchbox and across the street from Uncle Julio’s.

While the facade is still being finished, a temporary sign has been installed at the City Tap at One Loudoun.

The signs were installed this week, but funny story — the sign over the door is only temporary. There is actually a newer design coming and it will be installed once it’s complete.

The City Tap space is the former Hail & Hog restaurant, and it has been given a complete make-over. The Burn recently took a tour. You can see our story and photos here.

The menu at City Tap features unique takes on classic pub food — including “Elote Street Corn Dip” and “Ten Spice Wings.” Check out the City Tap’s Boston menu here — we’re told the Ashburn location’s menu should be similar.

City Tap currently has eight locations open, including two in DC. The Nov. 11 opening at One Loudoun is being billed as a “soft opening” meaning they’ll start welcoming guests as their staff gets accustomed to the systems and service, and any wrinkles get ironed out.
