Mexican restaurant Picante in Chantilly has closed

After nearly 30 years in business, the well-known Mexican restaurant Picante has closed its doors for good. We’re told July 31 was its last day in business.

Picante opened in 1994. It’s been located in a small retail center along the Highway 50 corridor in Chantilly, just east of the Loudoun County line — making it popular with many residents in southern Loudoun County.

The restaurant served traditional Mexican food such as tacos, tamales, enchiladas, sopas, and more.

But there is some good news for folks in the area who like to make an occasional “run for the border.” We’re told a new Mexican restaurant is planning to take Picante’s space in the next few months.
