Ford’s Fish Shack has a new carry-out store in Sterling

The folks at Ford’s Fish Shack can just never seem to sit still. They always have some new venture brewing. The latest is Ford’s To-Go, a new carry-out store tucked away in Sterling.

Ford’s To-Go can be found at 44900 Acacia Lane, No. 115. That’s in an industrial and office park off Pacific Boulevard south or Waxpool Road.

You may think to yourself — that’s a strange place to put a restaurant, and you wouldn’t be wrong. But Ford’s has an angle.

The new facility is actually a central commercial kitchen serving all the Ford’s outlets — including its area restaurants, its food trucks, and its catering services.

In the kitchen, some items will be prepared for use in the restaurants and trucks, bringing better consistency to their products, according to Ford’s found Tony Stafford.

In other words, why make a sauce or a cole slaw in multiple different kitchens when you can make them centrally in one and ensure they are the same everywhere.

But since they were going to have the facility anyway, Stafford decided to add a retail component too. So, they set up an ordering counter for folks to stop by and get carry-out items.

The menu includes many of your favorite Ford’s dishes from the restaurants, plus some new breakfast items.

Breakfast offerings include Avocado Toast, a Smoked Salmon with a Fried Egg Bagel, Crab Cake Benedict, and a Lobster Egg Wrap.

You can see the breakfast menu below, and check out the rest of the Ford’s To-Go menu here.

Online ordering at Ford’s To-Go should be available in the next week or so. In the meanwhile, guests are invited to walk in or call ahead at 703-719-FORD. The new Sterling location is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
