Rowing docks being installed at Reservoir Park in Ashburn

The new Reservoir Park coming to the south shore of the Beaverdam Reservoir in Ashburn continues to take shape. In recent weeks, crews were installing the docks for the rowing facilities at the park.

These photos are from Chesapeake Dock Outfitters, the company that handled the installation. They give a rough idea of what the docks at Reservoir Park will look like.

Loudoun Water and NOVA Parks broke ground on Reservoir Park back in October 2022 and work has been underway ever since. The site is located near the intersection of Belmont Ridge Road and Northstar Boulevard.

When completed, it will include “an entrance road, parking lot, welcome center, restroom building, crew facility, boat rental facility, several pavilions, trails, waterfront boardwalks, a bridge, plantings, site utilities, educational exhibits,” and more.

The reservoir is currently closed to water activities and the water levels have been drawn down to allow work to be done at the site of the future park.

When completed, water levels in the reservoir will be brought back up to their normal levels.

At last update, a grand opening of the park is expected sometime later this year.
