Baer’s Mattress Den moving after decades in Leesburg

A longtime Leesburg mattress store is moving locations. After more than 40 years in business, Baer’s Mattress Den is uprooting and heading to Ashburn.

The Burn has learned that Baer’s, which was founded in 1982, will leave the Battlefield Shopping Center off Edwards Ferry Road NE after 25 years in that location — and move to the Ashbrook Commons shopping plaza in Ashburn.

That’s the center with a Harris-Teeter supermarket as well as a Wendy’s, a Moby Dick restaurant, and a Jersey Mike’s, among many other retailers.

Baer’s will be taking the 3,000 s.f. space left vacant when the Zazu gift shop closed in 2022.

The Ashbrook Commons plaza has recently been given a major makeover with new facades, colors, and awnings — making it more attractive to both customers and potential tenants.

We’re told that Baer’s is also making the move to be more central to their customer base in the Sterling-Ashburn-Leesburg corridor. The move is expected to happen sometime this spring.
