New fried chicken and burger joint opens in Sterling

The restaurant is just off Route 7 near Dranesville Road.

A new fried chicken and hamburger restaurant has opened in Sterling — and we’re kicking ourselves for just finding out about it now.

Regular readers know The Burn prides itself on being Loudoun’s leading source for all fried chicken news, but somehow Dhonno Fried Chicken & Burger House slipped by us when it opened a few weeks ago.

The name Dhonno means “thank you” in the Bengali language, but don’t think this is some south Asian twist on chicken and burgers. It’s hardcore American fast food. Besides fried chicken and burgers, there are cheesesteaks, buffalo wings, chicken tenders, shrimp baskets, gyros, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, cheesecake and more on the menu.

We tasted tested a couple of pieces of fried chicken and the verdict — it’s legit. Good stuff.

Dhonno is located on the far side of Sterling, along Route 7 just to the west of Dranesville Road, in a former mini-mart space. The address is 47024 Harry Byrd Highway, Stuite 104.
