Raymer’s Homemade Candies closes at One Loudoun

The sweet shop originally opened in 2018.

Raymer’s Homemade Candies, a sweet shop at One Loudoun in Ashburn, has closed its doors just before one of the big candy holidays. The decision comes after a rough year due to the pandemic that has impacted so many retail businesses.

“Due to the unfortunate circumstances surrounding the past year, we are closing our doors. We have greatly appreciated the support of the customers we have grown to know,” the announcement reads in part.

The Ashburn location opened in 2018. The Raymer family still has their primary candy factory and store in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. They had opened their first outpost in Ashburn because they have family members who live in the area. In the note posted to the door of the Ashburn shop, it mentions an upcoming new location, but no official word yet on where that might be.

They are looking at Middleburg and primarily left because One Loudoun was jacking up their rates after their lease was up jan 1 and wouldn’t work with them after the bad year they had due to Covid.
