Another restaurant closure to report. Kobe Bonsai, a longtime Sterling Japanese steakhouse and sushi bar, has closed its doors for good. The closure was originally believed to be temporary — fallout from the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. But that temporary closure is now permanent.
We’re told the signs have already been removed from the facade at the restaurant’s location in the Countryside Marketplace shopping center, and the landlord has the space listed as available for lease.
Despite this news, the pace of restaurant closures in Loudoun County appears to have slowed in comparison to 2020. There’s been an uptick in new openings or announcements of new restaurants, and we are hearing from commercial real estate brokers that business is picking up.
