Two Joann Fabrics locations close, new Sterling store opens

The new 35,000 s.f. Joann Fabrics store in Sterling has opened for business. The store is located in the Sugarland Crossing shopping center off Highway 7.

With the opening comes the closure of the two other Joann locations in Loudoun County. Employees tell us both the Joann at Potomac Run Plaza in Sterling and the Joann at the Fort Evans Plaza II shopping center in Leesburg have closed. The Burn first reported earlier this year that the stores were being consolidated into the single, new store.

Joann Fabrics is a fabric and craft store brand based in Ohio that dates back to 1943. There are more than 800 locations across the chain.

The new Joann Fabrics in Sterling is one of the anchor stores at Sugarland Crossing, along with a Party City, a Lidl grocery store and a Burlington Coat Factory.

Could you please use nomenclature that we use in Virginia, it is Route 7 and not Hwy 7
