New in NoVa: Taim Mediterranean Kitchen headed to Reston

A new fast-casual Mediterranean restaurant should be arriving in the Northern Virginia market sometime this fall. Originating in New York City, it’s called Taim Mediterranean Kitchen.

Taim is taking over a nearly 2,000 s.f. spot in the Plaza America center along Sunset Hills Road just east of Reston Parkway.

It appears that it’s going into a spot that was formerly a location of the soup and sandwich chain Brown Bag.

That’s right next door to another eagerly awaited eatery — Maizal Latin Street Food — that we told you about late last year.

Taim got its start in NYC’s West Village and today — according to its website — there are 11 stores in New York and New Jersey.

There are also two here in the DC market — one in the Dupont Circle area and one in College Park, Md. Another Taim location is reportedly in the works for Vienna.

The menu at Taim is not dissimilar from other Mediterranean brands such as Cava and Mezeh. You choose a pita, salad or a bowl with a base, then choose your toppings.

Ingredients available include hummus, jasmine rice, couscous, falafel, cauliflower shawarma, and roasted meatballs.

There are also sides like hand cut crispy fries and red pepper babaganoush with seasoned pita. You can check out the full Taim Mediterranean Kitchen menu here.
