New Asian restaurant headed to Ashburn shopping center

A new Asian-style restaurant is coming to Ashburn. It will reportedly be called Matsu Poke and it has some experienced restaurant folks behind it.

Matsu Poke is coming to the Cameron Chase Village Center. That’s at the corner of Farmwell and Smith Switch Road.

It’s in the same plaza with Ford’s Fish Shack — and just a few hundred feet away from the Ashburn Ice House.

The Asian cuisine restaurant will be taking a roughly 1,400 s.f. space that was previously occupied by a Subway sandwich shop.

The creative team behind the new restaurant is the same group that operates Matsutake Sushi & Steak at several locations around the DMV, including Reston and Reagan International Airport.

The specific details of the new restaurant are still unclear. We were told they will be serving sushi, but the name clearly focuses on poke. Perhaps it’s both.

It’s also unclear if this is a full-service, sit-down concept or more of a fast-casual, order at a counter style eatery. We are waiting on more details.

In they meanwhile, we’re told that Matsu Poke has a target opening of Fall 2024. That’s more than a year away, so plenty of time for plans to solidify.
