New concept Panera Bread to Go coming to area

Like many restaurants, Panera Bread is always looking for new ways to reach its customers. The latest concept is called Panera Bread to Go and one is coming to our area.

The Burn has learned that Panera Bread to Go will take over an end unit at the Chantilly Crossing shopping center. That’s off Highway 50 near State Road 28.

It’s the same large center with a Costco, a Target, and a new Lidl grocery store. Panera is reportedly taking over a roughly 2,200 s.f. spot next to Five Guys that was formerly a Starbucks.

The Panera Bread to Go concept was officially launched in 2022 and features smaller footprint stores with no seating. It focuses entirely on carry-out and delivery orders.

Customers can come in to get their food and take it away. There will be shelves where people can grab their food if they ordered on the Panera app. It will work the same for delivery drivers for the various food delivery services.

No word on when Panera Bread to Go will open in the center — the construction hasn’t even started yet. But this “take away only” model may be one we see expanding in the area.
