Anchor Bar in Leesburg installs sign as opening approaches

The big sign on the facade has gone up at the upcoming Anchor Bar in Leesburg, while construction inside the space continues at a furious pace.

As readers of The Burn know, the famous Buffalo wing brand is opening a large restaurant and bar at the Village of Leesburg.

It has gone into the nearly 5,800 s.f. space that was formerly Eggspectation. That restaurant closed in 2020 during the pandemic.

It’s the first location in Virginia for the brand that now has 14 locations around the U.S. and Canada.

The original Anchor Bar in Buffalo, New York is allegedly the originator of the popular Buffalo wing dish so popular at bars and restaurants around the world.

The brand may be famous for wings, but guests will find a much more extensive menu that includes soups, salads, appetizers, pastas, ribs, pizzas and more.

You can start planning your first visit with a look at the Anchor Bar menu from the nearby Frederick, Md. location.

Meanwhile, the build-out of the Village at Leesburg space is nearly done and staff training will start soon.  The latest word we have on an opening is likely sometime in the second half of July.
