The new CIY Pottery studio coming to Ashburn has officially announced its grand opening. The date is next Saturday, August 5 and we’ve got a first look at the facility.
The Burn told readers about CIY Pottery back in June. The arts studio is coming to the University Commerce Center on George Washington Boulevard on the north side of Route 7.
For pottery enthusiasts, the studio’s equipment will include nine throwing wheels, two large hand-building tables, three kilns, several glaze options, and two slab rollers.
CIY is targeting both newbies and experienced potters. There will be classes offered at many levels, but people can also just come in and work independently on their own projects.
The grand opening next Saturday will go from 12 noon to 5 p.m. and include prize raffles, silent auctions, food and drink, and more.
