Sushi Ohayo getting ready to make debut in Chantilly

A new hibachi and sushi restaurant is getting closer to opening in Chantilly. The sign for Sushi Ohayo has gone up out front and work appears to be nearly finished inside.

Sushi Ohayo is coming to the Chantilly Crossing shopping center nearly Highway 50 and State Road 28. That’s the big Costco- and Target-anchored center just down 50 from the South Riding area.

The Burn originally reported on the restaurant back in April. At that time, the name was listed as Sushi Queen in leasing documents, but at some point that must have changed.

The word “ohayo” is Japanese for “good morning.” So, the restaurant name translates as something akin to “Good Morning Sushi.”

The Sushi Ohayo website says it will specialize in all-you-can-eat hibachi and sushi. “Sushi Ohayo is full-service Japanese restaurant that features All-You-Can-Eat. We serve healthy, fresh and authentic Japanese cuisine,” the site reads.

Still no word on when Sushi Ohayo will open. Right now, everything just says “coming soon.” We have messages in to the owners for more information.
