Tax Refund for Small Businesses is No Joke

What do a Leesburg landscaping company, an Ashburn dentist, and a local synagogue all have in common? It sounds like a riddle, but the punchline is no joke. Each of these businesses was able to claim serious money — tens of thousands of dollars from the IRS — money they might not have even known they were eligible for.

Belmont Dentistry

All three — Blake Landscapes, Belmont Cosmetic & Implant Dentistry, and Congregation Sha’are Shalom — worked with a company called The Relief Consultants. It’s a firm that specializes in securing tax credits and government grants for Virginians and others around the country.

“In a nutshell — we scan tax codes and uncover government programs available for Americans — we make it incredibly easy to claim money that you’re supposed to have,” said David Linden, the head of marketing for The Relief Consultants and an Ashburn resident.

“So far, we’re up to $60 million in money back to businesses and individuals — money they otherwise wouldn’t have known how to claim or even been aware of,” Linden explained.

In recent months, The Relief Consultants has focused on the Employee Retention Tax Credit, otherwise known as the ERC. It’s a program which allows businesses impacted by COVID shutdowns and disruptions to claim a refund on their payroll in 2020 and 2021. However, there is a time limit to claim these credits.

According to the firm, in the month of August alone, they helped a pharmacy in Pennsylvania with a $101,000 cash credit, along with $355,000 in checks for a healthcare facility in California, and a $98,000 refund for a private school in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

These windfalls — which they were entitled to — all started with a simple phone call with The Relief Consultants. The company has made it so simple to claim these tax credits that one business owner is reported to have said he didn’t even know his checks were on the way until he received them.

You can find out more about the program, the businesses that can benefit, and whether you might have money coming to you by visiting The Relief Consultants website at www.thereliefconsultants.com/get-your-erc or you can send David Linden a text message at (858) 290-0816.

“It’s not a guarantee that all businesses quality for refunds. And if you don’t we’ll tell you why,” said Linden. “But if you do — you can expect checks in the mail.”
