Duck Donuts in South Riding sets tentative opening date

The big day is drawing near — Loudoun County’s first Duck Donuts location now has a tentative soft opening date. If all stays on track, the shop in South Riding will open on Thursday, October 12.

That date will be nearly one year since The Burn first broke the news that Duck was coming to the South Riding Town Center.

That’s the shopping center at the intersection of Tall Cedars Parkway and South Riding Bouelvard.

The store has been under construction for months now, and anticipation has been growing in the community.

The new doughnut shop is the first of two planned for Loudoun County so far. As The Burn has reported, a second Duck Donuts shop is in the works for the Broadlands Village Center in Ashburn.

Duck Donuts was launched in 2006 in Duck, North Carolina and are now more than 100 locations across the country. In Northern Virginia, there are nearby locations in Herndon and Fairfax.

Duck specializes in warm, cake-style donuts that are then topped with a variety of toppings of the customer’s choosing.

The menu also has breakfast sandwiches, ice cream treats, and coffees. You can check out the full offerings from Duck Donuts here.
