Residents in Ashburn (and further afield) already enjoy going to Bilstad’s Beignets for their sweet, puffy pastries. Now, Bilstad’s is turning those pastries into a line-up of new breakfast sandwiches.
You know how restaurants take biscuits and donuts and croissants and make sandwiches with them? That’s what Scott and Jenny Bilstad are doing with their beignets at their cafe at 20937 Ashburn Road No. 150 in Historic Ashburn.
New options include savory sandwiches such as Beignets with Bacon Gravy, Chicken and Beignets, and Smoked Salmon on Beignet Toast. These items are made with beignet dough that doesn’t have the sweet glaze added.
Other dishes include a Beignet Bento Box, a Beignet Breakfast Slider, and Beignets with Strawberries & Cream. They have also added a warm beignet bread pudding with bananas and caramel to the menu.
Of course, the traditional beignets are still the focus of Bilstad’s Beignets. They also have several other non-beignet lunch sandwiches on the menu. You can see the full list of new choices below.
