Ramona Empanadas getting ready to launch in Loudoun

A new carry-out empanada shop is coming to Loudoun County with multiple locations in the works. It will be called Ramona Empanadas and feature more than a dozen different kinds of the savory pastry pockets popular in Latin America.

Aiming to launch in November, Ramona Empanadas is being brought to us by the same folks who created the Señor Ramon Taqueria brand, as well as Bites Grilled Cheese & Cheesesteaks, and Daybreak Biscuit Co.

There are five Señor Ramon Taqueria locations across Northern Virginia — in Leesburg, Sterling, Great Falls, Reston, and Chantilly. Now, each will soon be home to Ramona Empanadas as well.

Customers can order empanadas in advance online or come to one of the five locations where they will find a large Ramona Empanadas digital ordering kiosk.

The line-up of flavors includes: Beef, Chicken, Spicy Beef, Spicy Chicken, Beer Braised Brisket, Caprese, Ham & Cheese, Spinach, Sweet Corn, Onion & Cheese, Bacon-Egg-Cheese, Pepperoni & Cheese, and Pulled Pork Carnitas.

The first Ramona’s is expected to roll out at the Leesburg Señor Ramon’s, then Sterling, and then the other locations. Beyond that, the team at Ramona’s is in talks to expand their offerings to other locations in the DMV.

We’re also told that Ramona Empanadas will be available for delivery via the usual suspects like DoorDash and Grubhub.

Empanadas seem to be having a moment. Another brand called Gringo Gordo Empanadas has locations in Winchester and Purcellville with an additional store announced for Leesburg.
