The new Goodwill store under construction in Loudoun County is coming along quickly. The metal frames for the walls are up and the building it starting to take shape.
As The Burn reported back in January, the new retail store and donation center is coming to the Guilford Station development. That’s near State Road 28 and West Church Road.
It’s the same center with a 7-Eleven convenience store and gas station, The Human Bean drive-thru coffee shop, and future home of a DQ Chill & Grill restaurant.
The new roughly 18,000 s.f. Goodwill center — which will include a retail store and a drive-thru donation lane with a canopy — will be much larger than Goodwill’s current spot on Enterprise Street in Sterling.
We reached out to the public relations folks at Goodwill’s regional headquarters in DC, but didn’t get a response.
However, an employee at the current Sterling location says there is no firm date for the opening yet, but she believes it could be somewhere around the end of the year, or early in 2024.
Interestingly, she also said it wasn’t clear whether the current, smaller store on Enterprise Street would close or not — leaving open the possibility that Goodwill would operate two stores in eastern Loudoun.
