Second Painted Tree Boutiques location coming to Loudoun

Imagine an Etsy store or a Pinterest page come to life — that’s the idea behind Painted Tree Boutiques and now a second location for the fast-growing chain is in the works for Loudoun County.

Regular readers will recall that back in May we reported about Painted Tree Boutiques coming to the Sugarland Crossing shopping Center in Sterling. That store is taking over part of the space that was once the Shopper’s grocery store.

Now, The Burn has learned that there is also Painted Tree location in the works for the Dulles Landing shopping center in south Loudoun.

That’s the center with a Walmart store, as well as Dick’s Sporting Goods and other big box retailers located near Loudoun County Parkway’s intersection with Highway 50.

Painted Tree will be moving into the a space near the Dick’s Sporting Goods — into a spot that was either previously the Bye Bye Baby store or the Bed, Bath & Beyond.

At a Painted Tree Boutiques shop, you will find the work of dozens or even hundreds of local artists, designers, and craftspeople in one spot. We’re talking home decor items, clothing and accessories, and gift items.

These small businesses — who may not be able to manage a brick-and-mortar storefront of their own — lease space in a Painted Tree Boutiques location and get the benefits of having their creations sold in a professional store environment.

Painted Tree Boutiques got its start in Arkansas in 2015 and now has locations open or in the works in 18 states.

Here in Virginia, there is one in the Richmond area and another in Virginia Beach, but the two locations announced for Loudoun County will be the first in NoVa.

The Sterling location has already started signing up vendors and we’re told they are about 30 percent full. They have a rough target of opening that store in Summer 2024. No word yet on when the Dulles Landing location might open.
