So, the rumors were true. Back in August, we heard that folks from Sushi King had toured a space at the Dulles Town Center mall. When we asked mall reps for a comment, we got crickets.
But now, temporary banners have gone up at the space saying that Sushi King is indeed coming soon.
It’s taking over the space inside the mall entrance — the one where the Cheesecake Factory is located just outside. That’s also directly across the way from the Los Toltecos Mexican restaurant.
The space was previously — albeit briefly — a Tilted Kilt location. That restaurant closed in 2017 and the spot has been vacant ever since.
The one question we don’t have answered yet — is the Sushi King coming to the mall part of the Sushi King brand which has a number of locations around Virginia.
Because of the name, we assume they are one and the same. But the logo and font used on the banners hanging at the mall are different from the ones currently used by the Sushi King chain.
