Ashburn bubble tea, chicken restaurant closes after seven months

Well, that was quick. A restaurant that served up bubble tea, fried chicken, and mochi donuts has closed its doors in Ashburn after about seven months in business.

The windows are papered over at Tsaocaa in the Ashburn Farm Market Center and a note on the door says the business has closed for good.

“Tsaocaa Ashburn is permanently close(d) due (to) management changes. We are sorry for any inconvenience,” it reads. “Further notice will be post(ed) with new business/management.”

That last line implies that perhaps there is already a plan for something different to take Tsaocaa’s spot.

The bubble tea/chicken/donut shop opened in May. It’s part of a chain that stretches across the country with stores in roughly 17 states.

The Burn has a message in to the landlord at the shopping center for more details about what may be coming to the space next.
