Exclusive: Trader Joe’s planning a new store in Loudoun

This is not a drill. We repeat — this is not a drill. It looks like the popular grocery store brand Trader Joe’s is working on its second location in Loudoun County.

The Burn has learned that Trader Joe’s is planning a store at the Fort Evans Plaza II shopping center in Leesburg. That’s off Fort Evans Road NE near the intersection with Battlefield Parkway NE.

It’s the same shopping center with the HomeGoods store, the Buffalo Wild Wing restaurant, the Marshalls department store and a Walgreens.

Trader Joe’s intends to take the roughly 15,000 s.f. vacant space next door to the HomeGoods.

It’s a remarkable turn of events for the once quiet shopping center. Besides the new Trader Joe’s, the center will also soon be home to the new Bkd Bagels shop and furniture giant Restoration Hardware (nowadays called RH) is moving to the center too.

The first Trader Joe’s in Loudoun County opened to much hoopla in 2018 at One Loudoun in Ashburn.

No word yet on a timeline for the construction and opening of the Leesburg Trader Joe’s. The Burn will keep working on more details and keep readers posted.
