The mega convenience store chain Buc-ee’s is reportedly pursuing its third Virginia location — and if it happens, the new one would be the closest yet to Northern Virginia.
According to the Potomac Local News website, Buc-ee’s has filed paperwork for a location in Stafford right off Interstate 95. Depending on your definition of Northern Virginia — that’s either in our region or darn close to it.
This future Stafford store is the third location that the fast-growing brand is planning in Virginia. The other two are near Richmond and near Harrisonburg.
If you’re not familiar, Buc-ee’s is a Texas-based chain that builds huge gas stations and convenience stores along major highways.
We’re talking stores that are 50,000 s.f. or bigger and usually have 100 or more gas pumps. The proposed Stafford location would reportedly be 74,000 s.f.
The stores carry a huge array of gift items, as well as fudge, jerky, brisket sandwiches, and other snacks.
