Loudoun residents suffering from a serious sweet tooth will have a new place to get their fix starting next month. That’s when a new ice cream shop called Authors Best-Selling Ice Cream is set to open in Ashburn.
The ice cream shop and coffee shop will open Saturday, April 13 in the University Commerce Center. That’s off George Washington Boulevard north of Route 7.
It’s the same center with the Wicket Door Pub, the Potomac Tap House, Fountain Grill, and Taco Zocalo.
The Burn first broke the news back in January about Authors opening its first ice cream cafe in Ashburn. Now, a quick three months later and they are just about ready to open.
“We are overjoyed to share the grand opening of our very first cafe,” the Authors team posted on social media.
“Mark you’re calendars for Saturday, April 13th, as we prepare to welcome you into our new space where we’ll be serving our premium ice cream, espresso, drip coffee, pastries, and more. We cannot wait to celebrate this moment with you in person.”
Some of the flavors Authors has carried in the past include Apple Cinnamon Crunch, Lemon Raspberry, Salted Caramel, and Santa’s Milk & Cookies. We’re still waiting on word of the opening day line-up in Ashburn.
Besides having a retail ice cream and coffee shop, the new space will also be a production facility for Authors Best Selling Ice Cream. The brand sells its ice cream at farmers markets around Northern Virginia.
