Stone Tower opening tasting lounge in downtown Leesburg

Some big news was made at this weekend’s Flower & Garden Festival in Leesburg. The folks from Stone Tower Winery announced that they have purchased a historic bank building in the town’s downtown and will turn part of it into a wine tasting lounge.

It will be located in the historic Loudoun National Bank Building at the corner of King Street and Market Street which most recently was a Primis Bank.

The Huber Family, owners of Belfort Furniture and Stone Tower Winery, closed on the purchase of the building this past week and made the announcement via a popup store at the festival.

Matt Huber and the Stone Tower team were there passing out free wine tastings. In a sign of sweet corporate synergy, they also had outdoor furniture there from Belfort.

Huber told us the plans call for transforming the historic lobby — which dates back to 1901 — into a cozy tasting lounge reminiscent of a boutique hotel lobby.

The official name of the tasting lounge hasn’t been announced and there’s no firm opening date yet either. But the Stone Tower team says they are shooting for sometime this fall.
