A new Korean fried chicken restaurant is just about ready to start welcoming customers. It’s called Pelicana Chicken and it bills itself as the “King of Chicken.”
As The Burn reported back in April, Pelicana has taken over a former Bonchon Chicken location in Sterling. It’s in the Parc City Center which was formerly known as Regal Center right off Route 7.

The team at the new Pelicana says they are aiming to open this coming Thursday, May 30 — but that date could still push if there are any last minute delays.
The brand was founded more than 40 years ago in South Korea. “Pelicana Chicken was established in 1982 in Daejeon, South Korea,” the company’s website reads. “Since its inception, Pelicana has expanded to over 3000 stores and continues to grow aggressively abroad. Pelicana Chicken’s success is attributed to its variety of delicious sauces, chicken selections, and fresh ingredients.”

Dishes on the menu include bone-in and boneless wings and even whole chickens topped with a variety of sauces.
There are also chicken sandwiches, salads, rice bowls, sides, and much more. Here’s a link to the ordering form for the Annandale Pelicana location to give you an idea of what the Sterling store will offer.
We will stay in touch with the managers at the local Pelicana and let you know if anything changes with the opening date.
