The Village at Leesburg is hosting its first ever Paws in the Village event on Saturday — and one of the special four-footed guests of honor will be none other than Pongo the Dalmatian, an “Instadog” with more than 42,000 followers on Instagram.
The event, scheduled from noon until 3 p.m., will be a dream-come-true for pet lovers. There will be pet contests, pet photo booths, live music and vendors who specialize in pet products. Also on hand, a pet kissing booth, a pet obstacle course, a fashion show and costume contest featuring rescue animals and even a petting zoo with llamas, donkeys, goats, sheep, pigs, calves, chicks, ducks, and bunnies.
And in the middle of it all will be Pongo, a Northern Virginia-based Dalmatian who has found fame and fortune (?) thanks to a continual stream of cute-as-a-button photos on social media. Look for him having lunch at The Conche restaurant on Saturday.
