Lost Fox Hideaway at Ashburn’s One Loudoun begins soft opening

The new upscale tavern and restaurant was primed to open in 2020 before the pandemic started.

After more than a year’s wait, the much anticipated Lost Fox Hideaway at One Loudoun in Ashburn is starting to show signs of life. The Lost Fox team has quietly started a “soft opening” to get their sea legs under them as they slowly move towards what they hope will be a more traditional opening this spring.

The new restaurant and bar — a classic American tavern — is located on the second floor above the City Tap restaurant. It has its own entrance with an elevator and stairwell leading to a beautiful inside space, and not one, but two outdoor patios. The Lost Fox had been just about to open when the COVID-19 pandemic set in. Opening plans were quickly put on hold for the rest of 2020. But as the vaccine roll-out continues and the weather gets nicer when spring arrives, the team at the tavern hopes that better times are ahead.

The soft opening — which started this month — consists of allowing small groups of guests in — by reservation only via their website — on Fridays and Saturdays. They are currently just seating in their heated outdoor areas. The full bar is open, but they are on a limited food menu to start with and will expand as they see how restrictions on restaurants change in the coming months.
