PORTSIDE COFFEE & BAKERY CLOSES IN LEESBURG

The shop had been open for a little more than a year.

After a little more than a year in business, Portside Coffee & Bakery in Leesburg has closed down.

We’ve gotten multiple reports from readers that the store closed for business a few days ago. It’s listed as “permanently closed” on Google, its webpage is down and the phone goes right to voicemail. And, you guessed it, the space is already listed as available “For Lease.”

Portside Coffee opened in May 2017 in the Shops at Crescent Place, the retail and residential development off Harrison Street SE. No word on who will replace the coffeeshop, but we know the leasing agents are looking for another food service provider if possible.

I can’t say I’m surprised. The location doesn’t draw foot traffic and my several experiences as a customer left me underwhelmed. Average coffee, poor service and high prices.

I think it is sad to see any business go under.

To boot they never really connected with the residents down here.

My family was sad to see it go. It was the only place to get Bubble Tea in Leesburg.

Wouldn’t it be great if an established and very successful restaurant like MELT took over that location?

MELT would be great but those locations prohibit the cooking of food because of the residences above. They are limited to reheating, microwave, etc….
