Roost Chicken & Biscuits making inroads in Loudoun County

The brand has at least two locations in the county.

A new fried chicken restaurant has been making in-roads into Loudoun County and word is starting to get out. It’s called Roost Chicken & Biscuits and it’s got an interesting back story and good fried bird.

As regular readers know, The Burn prides itself on being Loudoun County’s leading fried chicken news source. So imagine our surprise when we were driving west on Route 50 past what had been a large Shell gas station and A-Plus convenience store. Our eagle eyes spotted a poster on the external wall that clearly featured fried chicken.

After making what may or may not have been an illegal U-turn, we made our way back to the gas station at the intersection of 50 and Pleasant Valley Road and discovered it was no longer a Shell but rather a 7-Eleven. The change apparently happened late last year.

The 7-Eleven C-store features a fast-food restaurant inside that is now branded as Roost Chicken & Biscuits. It’s very much in the vein of Royal Farm — another convenience store chain known for its fried chicken. The menu at Roost includes traditional bone-in fried chicken, chicken wings, chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches, biscuits and more.

Our surprise was compounded when we later learned that a Roost Fried Chicken has been open in a Purcellville 7-Eleven (1230 Wolf Rock Drive) for more than a year. We’ve got to get out that way more.

Staff members at the location on Highway 50 told us there are quite a few Roost locations in southern Virginia but not so many in this area. We’ve reached out to 7-Eleven headquarters to find out if others are headed this way.
