True Food Kitchen moves closer to opening at Reston Town Center

The popular restaurant chain specializes in healthy foods, vegetarian dishes and cocktails.

The eagerly awaited True Food Kitchen restaurant at the Reston Town Center is getting close to completion. A huge sign has been mounted over the door and cheerful yellow awnings now line the windows. We’re told if plans stay on track, they hope to open in April.

The Burn peeked in the doorway and the dining room looked nearly ready to go. Workers were busy cleaning the space and putting the finishing touches on the restaurant. Of course, staff still has to be hired and trained before opening.

The brand was founded by Dr. Andrew Weil, a proponent of healthy eating with a focus on greens, veggies, fruits and proteins that help fight chronic inflammation. Many of the dishes are gluten-free as well as vegetarian or vegan. Some of the menu items include Charred Cauliflower with Harissa Tahini, Grass-fed Steak Tacos, a Roasted Squash & Ricotta Panini and Banana Pancakes. There are also craft cocktails, beer and hard seltzers. You can see the full menu here.
