A long time natural foods and health food market in Loudoun County has undergone a name change and a makeover and debuted as a brand new shop. We’re talking about Neighbors: A Local Market in downtown Leesburg.

The shop opened under the new moniker earlier this month. Previously it was For Goodness Sake, a natural food store and staple of the downtown for more than 35 years — dating back to the 1970s. It’s located at 108 South Street SE in the Market Station complex.

The store has been rearranged, the new name and logo rolled out throughout the space and we’re told there’s an increased emphasis on carrying produce and meats from local farms as well as other products created by local artisans and businesses.

We were impressed by the selection of meats from Long Stone Farm in Lovettsville and the greens from Chilly Hollow Farm in Berryville. The market also has a nicely curated collection of unique wines and other beverages.

“So why ‘Neighbors?’ Because it’s about you,” an announcement from the market read. “We want to help people connect to their home, to their food, (and) to their neighbors.”
