The Tom Dolan Swim School at the Dulles 28 Centre has completed its transition to a new brand. Temporary signage has gone up with the new name — Big Blue Swim School.
As many local swim families know, two-time Olympic gold medal swimmer Tom Dolan merged his two Northern Virginia schools — the Dulles location as well as one in Falls Church — with the Big Blue chain last spring.
But the Tom Dolan sign remained at the D28 Centre until recently when a Big Blue banner and a window cling were added.
Big Blue Swim Schools is a Chicago-based brand, which was also founded by a former competitive swimmer. That businessman — Chris DeJong — has been adding new schools in places like Colorado, Georgia, Michigan and New Jersey.

Here in Northern Virginia, both of the former Dolan schools are now Big Blue and there is another location in Chantilly. A fourth NoVA location is scheduled to open soon in Fairfax.
