New retail, restaurant center proposed for Leesburg

A new retail and restaurant center could be coming to the Catoctin Circle SE section of Leesburg. It’s currently going by the moniker 37 Catoctin Circle and would have room for up to eight or nine shops and eateries.

The parcel of land in question is currently the location of Destiny Church. It appears that the plans would call for the existing building to be retrofitted and refurbished into a multi-unit shopping center.

While there are no named tenants at this early point in the project, the renderings imagine a mix of shops and restaurants as well as office space.

The proposal would certainly be a nice retail fit with the separate plans for the Virginia Village shopping center across the street.

One of Leesburg’s oldest shopping plazas, Virginia Village is expected to undergo a major transformation into a new retail, office and apartment community. Those plans have been working their way through the town’s permitting process for some time now. (See images of the proposed Virginia Village here.)

No word on when 37 Catoctin Circle will officially come to fruition, but we know a target for them is to be welcoming new retailers sometime in the first quarter of 2024.

I’m all for doing away with a church, but aren’t there enough vacant, dying shopping centers in Loudoun that could be filled without needing new construction?
