The Conche opens cake, chocolate studio in Sterling

Loudoun’s favorite chocolate-themed restaurant has expanded its operations. This week, The Conche opened a new facility named The Conche Chocolate & Cake Studio.

The new business is located 22446 Davis Drive in Sterling. It will operate as a commercial kitchen and also a classroom for teaching events focusing on candies, cakes and other sweets.

The space will host birthday parties, team building events, chocolate making classes, camps for both kids and adults, “mommy & me” events, and more — all centered around the chocolate and candy items that The Conche is known for.

The commercial kitchen will produce items that have been pre-ordered and can be picked up at the studio.

They also will be producing desserts that will be sold wholesale to wineries, breweries, hotels, restaurants and other businesses. There is no retail shop component currently.

The new business came about when celebrity chef Santosh Tiptur, owner of The Conche restaurant at the Village at Leesburg, basically outgrew the space there.

By moving most or all of the classes and wholesale business to Sterling, he can focus on his restaurant customers at the Leesburg spot.
