Shooting at Dulles Town Center — one suspect in custody

UPDATED: The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that a shooting took place today at the Dulles Town Center mall. One person has been injured and taken to a local hospital and one person is in custody.

Here is a dramatic series of videos posted to social media by an eyewitness. It appears to show a gun and shell casing on the floor near the food court. It also shows law enforcement officers as they enter the mall and as they approach the food court and encounter an individual lying prone on the floor. Warning: The images could be disturbing to some viewers.

InsideNova.com is reporting that the victim and the suspect were known to each other and the shooting was not targeted at the mall or other shoppers. The incident may have started with some dispute between the two parties.

The shooting took place shortly before noon Sunday and the mall was quickly evacuated. There is heavy police presence outside several of the malls entrances, along with many other emergency vehicles.

No word so far on the condition of the injured person nor the identities of the people involved.
