New to NoVa: Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar opening first store in region

It seems the over-the-top gourmet milkshake concept is heating up. Loudoun County currently has the only Northern Virginia outpost of The Yard Milkshake Bar at One Loudoun in Ashburn. Now comes word that a similar concept is entering the great DC market.

It’s called Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar and the company will be opening its first NoVa store in Alexandria this summer. The exact location is 716 King Street in Old Town Alexandria.

Crazy Mason got its start in South Carolina back in 2020 at the height of the pandemic. Now, it is expanding. According to its website, there are 10 locations open or in the works in five eastern states.

The menu at Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar is a sugar lover’s dream. Thick milkshakes topped with a bounty of add-ons. Here’s how the menu describes the “Build Me Up Buttercup” — “vanilla ice cream blended with Reese’s peanut butter sauce in a chocolate and peanut butter swirled jar with a peanut butter rim rolled in Mini Reese’s Pieces. Topped with two Reese’s peanut butter cups and Mini Reese’s Pieces, finished with peanut sauce, chocolate sauce and whipped icing.”

Other shakes include the “Cow Jumped Over The Moon,” the “Dashing Thru The Dough,” and the “Don’t Worry Beach Happy.” You can see the full Crazy Mason menu here.

There’s no official opening date yet. The last word from the company’s HQ was that they were hoping to open their doors in June.
