Yum Yum Hibachi just about ready to roll in Ashburn

The long-awaited Yum Yum Hibachi restaurant is likely weeks away from opening its doors. The new eatery is located in the heart of Old Ashburn.

The Burn first reported on Yum Yum Hibachi back in 2021, when the owners leased space in an old, rundown structure at the corner of Ashburn Road and Hay Road. The structure was attached to the old building there that was once home to Weller Tile, a historic business in the community.

The Yum Yum Hibachi team has given the old building the most extreme of makeovers and turned it into a clean, modern kitchen.

At Yum Yum, customers will be able to order online through food delivery apps, or order directly with the restaurant and pick it up themselves. There is no inside dining room — just a counter and a big kitchen.

There is a small outside patio with a handful of tables and a window where food can also be picked up. There’s a possibility some picnic tables could be added to the vacant land next door.

The menu at Yum Yum hasn’t been unveiled yet, but we’re told it will focus on doing fewer items, but doing them really well.

This includes their signature bowls where guests will choose from a base — such as white rice, fried rice, and veggie noodles — then choose a protein like chicken or steak — and then select from an array of toppings.

The owners of Yum Yum Hibachi are already successful restauranteurs as the proprietors of Courthaus Social, a popular establishment in Arlington. They hope this first Yum Yum will be a model for future locations around the DMV.

An opening date for the restaurant — likely sometime in June — should be announced any time now, so as we like to say — stay tuned.
