Moo Thru ice cream truck starts serving Herndon today

The new Moo Thru ice cream truck is ready to roll in Herndon. Tonight is the first night it’s scooping up cones ahead of opening a brick-and-mortar store later this year.

Last week, The Burn reported how the ice cream store will be teaming up with a new coffee shop called Old Town Coffee. Both shops are coming to a shared space at 317 Spring Street.

Until then, the Moo Thru truck will be at the Spring Street site Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The hours below are starting next week. They will have slightly adapted hours this first weekend.

Moo Thru was launched back in 2010 in Remington VA, about an hour south of Ashburn. The ice cream is slow churned at the Moo Thru facility there and crowds regularly gather for sundaes and cones all summer long.

When the new Herndon shop opens, we’re told it will be the first brick-and-mortar Moo Thru in the immediate Northern Virginia suburbs.

We’ve also got a look at the truck’s menu of Moo Thru ice cream flavors. You can see that line-up below.
