Caffe Bottega Italiana starts soft opening in Leesburg

It looks like the cat is out of the bag. Caffe Bottega Italiana has started a very soft opening in Leesburg.

The new Italian deli and market has opened in an old house at 8 Fort Evans Road NE. A hard-to-miss large red sign adorns the front of the building.

We call it a very soft opening because the family bringing the new deli to life is still getting their feet wet operating a brick-and-mortar store.

They’ve been regulars at area farmers markets, but this is their first permanent storefront and it’s a literal “mom-and-pop shop” with a mother, father, and son team behind the counter.

Right now, Caffe Bottega is focusing on offering some select sandwiches each day, as well as fresh-sliced meats and cheeses from the deli.

Plus, there’s the small market filled with pastas, sauces, and other Italian treasures.

The items being offered are nearly all imported from Italy and are premium quality. The Burn sampled some thinly sliced speck, mortadella, and pancetta at Caffe Bottega earlier this week that was extraordinary.

Plans for future additions to the store include wine and wine tastings, cheese and charcuterie boards, an expanded coffee service, and possibly even community events such as Italian language classes.

As mentioned, right now the store is currently in the soft opening phase while they get their systems and operations flowing smoothly. A grand opening is going to be scheduled down the line.
