A family-owned dairy farm south of Leesburg is getting into the food truck business with the launch of a new ice cream truck. It will be called the Brookfield Dairy Ice Cream Company.
Brookfield Dairy is located at 18868 Harmony Church Road, about 10 minutes southwest of downtown Leesburg. The farm specializes in raw milk, cheese, butter, and ice cream.
It’s that last item — the ice cream — that is the focus on the new truck launching this weekend using the rich, creamy milk produced by the farm’s 35 prize-winning dairy cows.
The grand opening days are this Saturday and Sunday, July 29 and July 30, from 12 noon to 5 p.m. each day. The truck will be stationed at the intersection of Route 15 and Harmony Church Road.
Flavors will include Sea Salted Caramel Dream, Strawberry, Vanilla, Black Raspberry, Birthday Cake, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Coffee, Cookies-n-Cream, Mint Chip, Peach, Cold Brew Chip, Orange Pineapple, and Chocolate.
Going forward, Greg and Sue Harrison — the truck operators and owners of the Brookfield Dairy Farm — hope to take the ice cream truck to different locations around the region including community events as well as making it available for private events.
