Today is the day for folks waiting to try out authentic Buffalo wings from Buffalo, New York. That’s because the latest outpost of the famed Anchor Bar opens today in Leesburg.
It’s the first location in Virginia for the growing brand that hopes to harness the original bar’s claim to fame as the originator of spicy hot chicken wings.
Anchor Bar is located in the Village at Leesburg, in the spot vacated by Eggspectation several years ago.
The operators were waiting on a final permit to come through and that came in Tuesday, so they are open for business today — lunch and dinner hours.
The Burn and some friends got a chance to sample the the medium heat wings — which is the original flavor and considered the standard bearer for the brand. Verdict: Big thumbs up.
