Work underway on Loudoun County’s first Honey Pig BBQ

Honey Pig Korean BBQ is one step closer to a reality in Loudoun County now that construction work has started on its first location here.

The popular restaurant is coming to the the Ashburn Farm Market Center in Ashburn. That’s the Giant-anchored center sometimes called Junction Plaza at the intersection of Claiborne Parkway and Ashburn Farm Parkway.

We first reported on Honey Pig signing a lease in the center back in March. It’s been in the permitting stages thus far, and now work is finally underway.

One of the hot trends in restaurant’s right now, Korean BBQ restaurants like Honey Pig feature tables with burners in the center where guests cook a variety of meats and veggies to enjoy with cold beer and soju.

Honey Pig is the latest in a long list of Korean BBQ restaurants opening around Loudoun County.

Gogi 92 Korean BBQ is open in Leesburg and Kiwa Korean Grill opened earlier this year in Sterling. Khan Korean BBQ & Bar is also coming to Sterling and The Qui Korean BBQ & Bar is set to open soon in the South Riding/Stone Ridge area.

But unlike some of these new brands, Honey Pig is actually a small chain with several locations in Virginia, Maryland, and even Texas.

No official word yet when the Ashburn Honey Pig might open, but the banner hanging out front says they are aiming for this coming fall.
