Update: Power restored to restaurants in Village at Leesburg

Update: According to several tenants, the power was restored to the Village at Leesburg in the 2 p.m. hour Friday and the restaurants and other impacted businesses are back open or will be opening soon.

An unfortunate power outage at the Village of Leesburg complex Friday has shut down many — if not most — of the restaurants in the center. We’re told by tenants it started right around 12 noon.

A quick survey indicated places like Noodles & Co., The Conche, Firebirds, and Travinia were all closed.

The new Anchor Bar was open, but only serving drinks and salads. Power was out to the kitchen, so no fryers.

We also heard reports that the Wegmans grocery store was impacted, as were some of the residences in the center.

However, the problems must be limited in scope. A call to Robek’s, a smoothie shop, in the Shops at Russell Branch next door found they were having no power problems and operating as usual.

Dominion Energy does show an outage in that area, covering primarily the Village at Leesburg center and nearby properties.

It says 723 customers are impacted, but when you consider all the disappointed diners, that number probably grows.
