Jollibee in Chantilly looking towards early September opening

The eagerly anticipated new Jollibee restaurant in Chantilly continues to make progress towards opening its doors, but it’s possible the opening won’t happen until early September.

Jollibee is coming to 4406 Chantilly Shopping Center, tucked into a food-focused center with an Arby’s, a Taco Bell, a Starbucks, a McDonalds, a Wendy’s, and a Hooters.

We spoke with management from the store and — while the exterior looks complete — they said there is still some construction taking place inside.

They are also waiting on a few final permits from the county — and as anyone who has ever opened a business knows — the issuing of permits can sometimes drag out.

The official Jollibee website still has August listed as the target opening — and that could still be possible if everything were to fall into place quickly, but September may prove more likely.

As regular readers of The Burn know, Jollibee is an international fast food brand from the Philippines specializing in fried chicken.

The menu is also filled with some unique flavors and dishes representing Philippines culture — including brown gravy for dipping your chicken in; and Jolly Spaghetti which is topped with a sweet tomato sauce loaded with meat including cut up hot dogs. You can see the full Jollibee menu here.

Jollibee has more than 1,500 locations around the world. After originally entering the U.S. market on the west coast, they are now actively expanding across the country.

There are two currently in the DMV — one in Alexandria and one in Wheaton Md. Chantilly will be the third in the area.
