Honey Pig sign goes up in Ashburn as opening day approaches

The eagerly anticipated new Honey Pig Korean BBQ restaurant in Ashburn is one step closer to opening day after the sign was installed this week. And that big opening should be just around the corner.

According to a spokesperson for the growing brand, the Ashburn restaurant is looking to start welcoming guests sometime in December.

The Burn first broke the news about Honey Pig coming to the Ashburn Farm Market Center back in March.

That’s the shopping plaza anchored by a Giant grocery store at Ashburn Farm Parkway and Claiborne Parkway. It’s sometimes called Junction Plaza by locals.

According to its website, Honey Pig currently has 10 locations open or in the works in three states — including several here in Northern Virginia, plus Maryland and three locations in Texas.

Like other Korean BBQ restaurants, customers are seated at tables with grills in the middle. A large variety of meats are available to order and then the customer cooks the proteins themselves on the grills.

You might compare it to a Melting Pot only instead of cooking in oil or broth, you’re grilling the meat on a griddle.

The Korean BBQ trend has been a popular one here in Northern Virginia. Several have opened in Loudoun County recently including Kiwa Korean Grill and The Qui Korean BBQ — and several more are in the works.
