Northern Virginia fans of Detroit-style pizza have a new option — one that is likely familiar to any Michiganders among us. The first Jet’s Pizza in the area opened its doors this week.
The new location in at 6 East Glebe Road in Alexandria — the small store focuses on carry out and delivery.
It serves up the brand’s signature deep-dish pizza which features a pillowy center and a crunchy edge where the dough meets the pan. They also have hand-tossed crust, thin crust, and New York-style crust.
Individual slices are available as well as whole pies. The Jet’s menu also has wings, salads, calzones, and breadsticks.
A second Jet’s location is in the works for Annandale and the Jet’s franchisee in the area has told The Burn he is looking for additional locations in the region — perhaps 10 stores or more.
They’re looking for 1,200-1,400 s.f. units in small shopping centers with ample parking and good visibility to a major road.
